Jasus is a genus of spiny lobsters which live in the oceans of the Southern Hemisphere . They have two distinct "horns" projecting from the front of the carapace, but lack the stridulating organs present in almost all other genera of spiny lobsters . J. verreauxi and J. edwardsii are the only "lobsters" to occur around the coasts of New Zealand . Jasus lalandii is the most important commercial rock lobster in southern Africa .

Jasus tristani — Tristan da Cunha archipelago; Vema seamount
Jasus verreauxi — New Zealand (esp. North Island), Chatham Islands, Australia (Queensland to Victoria, Tasmania)
